Dot Blotter, 96 Sample

Dot Blot and Slot Blot microfiltration manifolds are designed for DNA and RNA filter blot hybridisations and immunological (Ag/Ab) screening applications. Machined from high density acrylic, their precision lapped mating surfaces and leak proof gasket ensures uniform filter contact, so preventing lateral transfer of samples – smudging – by ensuring that a complete vacuum is formed. Assembly of the manifolds is simply by aligning the mating surfaces and tightening the stainless steel thumb screws. A permanent filter template is provided with each manifold to simplify the cutting of filters to the exact size. A vacuum of approximately 600mm Hg (0.8 Bar) is required during sample application.

In addition to this 48 well Dot Blotter, three other configurations are available for 24 & 48 for slots and 96 wells for dots in the configuration of standard microplates. Each well is alpha-numerically grid referenced for easy identification.

Slot Blotter, 24 Sample

Biocom 24-well Slot Blot microfiltration manifolds are designed for DNA and RNA filter blot hybridisations and immunological (Ag/Ab) screening applications. These manifolds are machined from high density acrylic with precision lapped mating surfaces, which ensure uniform filter contact. They are configured in a 2 x 12 array, consisting of paired upper dot-forming modules (dots 0.5 x 6mm in diameter) and lower vacuum chamber module.

In conjunction with the gasket supplied, they greatly reduce the possibility of sample leakage. Assembly of the manifolds is achieved simply by aligning the mating screws and tightening the stainless steel thumbscrews. A permanent filter template is provided with each manifold to simplify the cutting of filters to the exact size. A vacuum of approximately 600mm Hg (0.8 Bar) is required during sample application.

Capillary Blotter, Small (150 x 260mm)

Of durable toughened PVC construction, this small Capillary Blotting Unit (larger 28 x 26cm model available; CP-2826) features a permanent optimised wick system which eliminates the use of traditional overhanging filter wicks. This new system draws up more fluid than conventional systems, thus ensuring faster and more even blots. Multiple gels can be transferred simultaneously, side by side in the same unit - simply by masking the area surrounding the gels.

Principle:
Through capillary action, the buffer travels from the reservoir to the blot pack via porous supports, permanent wick, gel and membrane. This action optimises the transfer of low and high Molecular Weight DNA/RNA from gel to membrane without mechanical damage to even the thinnest of gels.
